Virginia Sansoucie

October 5, 1941 — February 20, 2022

Virginia Lea Sansoucie, age 80, of Roswell, NM entered eternal rest with her Lord on Sunday, February 20, 2022. Virginia, better known by her friends as Ginger, was born on October 5, 1941, in Lovington, NM to Kenneth and Vergie Scoggin. Ginger grew up in Lovington where she graduated from Lovington High School in 1959.  She spent many years working in the banking industry in Lovington and in Roswell, NM. Her final years before retirement were spent working for the Boy Scouts of America office in Roswell.

Ginger was married to Jack McCaw on June 7, 1959 in Lovington, NM. They began a family on May 23, 1960 with the birth of their son, Jack McCaw III and their daughter on Jan 1, 1962. Ginger remained in Lovington until 1983 when she moved to Roswell for employment purposes. She would marry Madie Sansoucie in June 2001. Madie and Ginger had a lot of adventures hunting, fishing, and traveling.

Ginger’s life revolved around her family including her 7 grandchildren who lovingly called her Ma. Her joy included weekends at the family cabin in Ruidoso with walks to the river and huge family water balloon fights, fishing trips with the whole family, and large holiday get-togethers which included lots of competitive card games and dominoes where she delighted in beating her grandkids. She loved her church family at the Adventure Bible Church where she could be found greeting every person attending. The last couple of years she was unable to attend due to health reasons but remained a prayer warrior and sent scriptures every day to her family and friends.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Vergie Scoggin; brother Kenny Scoggin; sister Thelma Mosley; grandson Dustin Sultemeier; son-in-law Allen Sultemeier, and sister-in-law Peggy Mann.

She is survived by husband, Madie Sansoucie of Roswell; her son, Jack McCaw and wife Susanne of Alto; her daughter, Kristin Sultemeier of Capitan; her daughter-in-law, Becky Watterson of Tuscan, AZ; grandchildren Keith Sultemeier of Encino, Wade Sultemeier of Fort Sumner, Jacob McCaw and wife Kendra of Ruidoso, David McCaw of Alto, Hannah and Michael Herbst of Alto. As well as many friends, both old and new.
