January 25, 1934 — February 9, 2021

Tommie Sue Dunnahoo

Tommie Sue Dunnahoo 87, lifelong Roswell resident gained her wings on February 9, 2021.  Tommie spent most of her life keeping the State Engineers office running and joyfully singing in the choir at First Presbyterian Church.  Tommie was a sister, favorite aunt, and loyal friend to all who were lucky enough to know her. Tommie loved sports and spent many hours keeping score at RHS Volleyball matches, working concession stands for basketball and track teams all so those girls could have all the uniforms and equipment they needed. And Tommie was a proud member of RHS class of ‘52.

Tommie was preceded in death by her parents Alex and Tommie Louise Dunnahoo and brothers Owens and Rufe.  She is survived by her brother Pat (Kathy) Dunnahoo of Las Cruces;  dearest friends Flo Valdez of El Paso, Kathy Culshaw of Roswell, and Phil Shamas of Albuquerque; special niece Kathy Cooper of Roswell; nephew Glen (Kristi) Dunnahoo of Roswell who spent many hours keeping Tommie safe and healthy.  Also surviving Tommie are her nieces and nephews Tim (Jan) Dunnahoo, Cindy (Bernard Bro), Lisa (Bill) Kirsch, Rufe (Lucinda) Dunnahoo, Sam Dunnahoo, Nancy Dunnahoo, Tommy (Michelle) Dunnahoo, John Bass Dunnahoo, Mary (Robert) Reagan, Chad (Rhonda) Dunnahoo, and Susan (Javier) Ledesma.

Tommie has so many friends that stopped by to check on her but special thanks to Sam Dunnahoo, Jim
Valdez, Sally Knight and Susan Entrop for always being “on call” for her. Special thanks to Tori and Leslie of Encompass, Elisa Fierro of Comfort Keepers and all of Tommie’s friends and staff at Avamere Assisted Living.

Because of COVID there will be no services at this time. Memorial contributions in Tommie’s memory can be made to FORA Friends of Roswell Animals, PO Box 366, Roswell, NM 88202 as she was an avid animal lover.
