Born to Louis Clayton Pottle and Hilda Mae (Sprague) Pottle I was born at home in Perry, Maine on May 31,

1937.

My life letter:

I went to a single room school in Perry Maine through 8th grade and graduated class of 1954 at Shead High School. The following January I entered the U.S Air Force at the age 17. I went to basic training camp in Utica, NY; it was so cold there. Next, I went to McDill, FL Air Force Base for 4 months, then to Shepard, TX Air Force Base to engineering school. I was then stationed at Walker Air Force Base in Roswell, NM where I met the love of my life Sandy Jones. It was love at first sight on a blind date. We married April 20, 1958 and had our first child David in 1960 and our daughter Kathy was born in 1962. We transferred to Charleston, SC AFB. I then went to Vietnam for a year then back to Charleston AFB. I retired from the Scott Air Force Base, IL in 1977 and moved to Roswell, NM where I was employed at the US Post office as letter carrier for 20 years and retired in 1999. I was an active member at the First United Methodist Church for close to 50 years, I ushered for 20 of those years and served on many committees. Sandy and I traveled extensively taking at least 2 road trips per year around 5,000-8,000 miles. We visited all 50 states and several countries. After retiring from the post office, I enjoyed spending my free time on the golf course 4-5 days a week. Playing golf and watching baseball were my favorite hobbies.

l am proceeded in death by my mother, father, son David, brother Louis and sister-in-law Barbara.

Those left to cherish my memories are my wife Sandy, daughter Kathy, daughter-in-law Mindi, grandchildren Dwight and wife Amber, Michelle, Alicia and husband Tom. My great-grandchildren who I got to know each personality Isaiah, Wesley, and Tatum.

Bob, Dad, Grandpa, Great-Grandpa was a man of his word and a man of love and faith in our lord and savior Jesus Christ. He always made sure to help his friends in need but also his family. He was always a head of what we needed to do so he could help us be prepared. He will forever be remembered but never forgotten but most of all loved by all.

We will celebrate Bob at First United Methodist Church, Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 2:00 pm.
