Marlene Olivas, 25, and Magdaly Amelia Olivas, 9 months, of S. Union Street, Roswell, NM, passed away October 21, 2020 in Texas. Visitation and funeral services will be 3 PM – 5 PM, Friday, October 23, 2020 at Iglesia Evangelica Cristiana in Odessa, TX. Visitation will be 1 PM – 6 PM, Sunday, October 25, 2020 at Ballard Funeral Home in Roswell, NM. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 PM, Monday, October 26, 2020 at Church on the Move with Pastor Troy Smotherman officiating in Roswell, NM. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery in Roswell, NM.

Marlene was born December 6, 1994 in Las Vegas, NV to Miguel Angel and Margarita (Chaves) Acedo. She was a graduate of Odessa High School – ECISD, Class of 2013. Soon after graduation Marlene met and married the love of her life, Miguel Angel Olivas, on February 7, 2014. Marlene was a devoted wife and mother to their three beautiful girls: Moncerrat Aliyah, Maite Alejandra, and Magdaly Amelia Olivas. There was never a moment when you would see Marlene without her precious girls; whom she loved with all of her heart. She was an amazing wife, mother, daughter, sister, and daughter-in-law. She existed with a big heart and never failed to tell those she loved around her how much they meant to her. She will be deeply missed.

Magdaly “Maggie” Amelia was born December 30, 2019 in Odessa, TX to Miguel Angel and Marlene (Acedo) Olivas, joining siblings Moncerrat “Monce” and Maite. Despite her short time on Earth, she was deeply loved and brought joy to those around her with her smiles and infectious laugh. Maggie was loved immensely by her parents, Miguel Angel and Marlene; her sisters, Moncerrat and Maite; and extended family members. She will be forever remembered and loved. They were preceded in death by Marlene’s paternal grandparents and her cousin, Edgar Acedo.

Survivors are her husband, Miguel Angel Olivas; daughters, Moncerrat Olivas and Maite Olivas; parents, Miguel Angel and Margarita Acedo; brothers, Misael Acedo, Miguel Angel Acedo, and Moises Acedo; In-laws, Jesus Campos and Lourdes Vega; brothers-in-law, Hector Olivas (Jazzmin Johnson), Jesus Campos Jr., and Mateo Campos; niece, Aviana Olivas; maternal grandparents, Margarito and Carmen Chavez, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Miguel Angel Acedo, Misael Acedo, Moises Acedo, Angel Acedo, Leo Acedo, Luis Flores, and Ceasar Acedo.
