Lloyd Henry Otero Jr.
Lloyd Henry Otero Jr. 82 took his first eternal breath the evening of Monday January 27, 2020. Lloyd was born in Roswell, NM on July 17, 1937 to his parents Lloyd Otero Sr. and Cecilia Flores Otero. He married Evia Williams Otero on January 17, 1960 and upon her death in 2013, they had been married for 53 years.
After graduating from Roswell High School, Lloyd enlisted in the US Navy from 1956 to 1960 and was stationed at US NAS Jacksonville, FL., and served on the USS Franklin D Roosevelt (CVA-42) from there he served in the reserves and moved back to Roswell to work as a Chaves County Sherriff for many years until he became a Special Investigator for the Public Defenders Office from which he retired from in 1993.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his wife Evia; son Darrel Otero; granddaughter Abigail Martinez; grandson Kodi Otero and brothers Tommy and Raoul Otero.
He is survived by his son Greg Otero and wife Jill; grandson Reese Otero and grandson Myles Mitchell and wife Trina; great grandchildren Karlie, Trevon, Skylin, Colton and Rhett; daughter Melissa Otero Sanders and husband Rick; grandson Marcus Otero and wife Lissa; granddaughters Bailey and Macey Martinez; grandson Layne Sanders and wife Samantha and Luke Sanders; brothers Raymond Otero and wife Esperanza, Bruno Otero and Irene, Arthur Otero and wife Mary, Johnny Flores and Toni and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
We would like to thank Kymera Independent Physicians PCP-Dr Dake, Fresenius Dialysis Center, Frontier Medical Home Care-Physical Therapist-Annie and Chiropractor-Barry Mathison. Also, a special thanks to Terri and Dennis Blair for all the support in our time of need.
A rosary will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, February 1, 2020 at St. Peters Catholic Church with mass to follow at 11:00 am. Lloyd wishes were to be cremated and placed in the St. Peters Columbarium.
