Judith Carol Armstrong
Judith Carol Armstrong passed away on Tuesday, June 29, 2021, age of 77 as a result of a long-term illness. She was residing at Heartfelt Manor at the time of her death. Judi was born in Roswell, NM on Christmas Day in 1943 to Billie B. and Betty Ellen Armstrong.
Judi attended schools in Roswell and graduated in 1964 from St. Peter High School. She graduated from Concordia Teachers College in Seward Nebraska. She then attended an Episcopal Convent. While there she took the name of Sister Noel and began her teaching career. Upon her return to Roswell, she discontinued the name of Sister Noel and was known as Judi. She continued her career by teaching elementary grades at Berrendo Elementary until she retired.
Because of her love of children, she fostered many children. One of her foster children was Ellynn who Judi adopted when she was four. When Judi retired from teaching, she moved to Ruidoso, NM. Judi joined the Order of the Daughters of the King, an Episcopal order for women who take a vow of prayer, service, and evangelism. Taking her vows seriously as a member of the Maranatha Chapter at the Church of the Holy Mount in Ruidoso, she was faithful in worship and was at the Church as much as she was at home. She volunteered in the parish office, folded Sunday bulletins, attended Bible studies, assisted with the Junior Daughters of the King, and was a cheerful, generous giver. She eventually returned to Roswell.
In her final years in Roswell she lived at Peachtree Village. While at Peachtree, she was cared for on a daily basis by Julie Adams and several other health care providers. Because of the excellent care by many, Judi was able to live a fulfilled life. The family is grateful to Peachtree for the many years of care. Heartfelt Manor and Hospice are commended for their tender care.
Judi was preceded in death by her parents, Bill, and Betty Ellen. Judi is survived by her daughter, Ellynn, and two granddaughters, Alivya and Mycah. She is also survived by three brothers, Bill Armstrong Jr. and his wife Karen, Robert G. Armstrong and his wife, Sara, and Riley Armstrong and his wife, Pat.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00am, Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at South Park Cemetery with The Very Reverend Laurie Benavides, Deacon of the Episcopal Diocese of the Rio Grande, will conduct the services.
