Gary Lowell Wiberg

Gary Lowell Wiberg, age 86 passed away Tuesday, April 13, 2021.  Gary was born October 10, 1934 in Edgar, Nebraska to Carl Elan and Anna "Hattie" Wiberg.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, brother Stuart and sisters Eileen Davidson and Justine McGhie.

Gary attended school in Gering and Hastings, Nebraska.  He served his country in the U.S. Army where he achieved the rank of Sgt. in the 511th Airborne Division.  In 1958 Gary married Patricia Armstrong in Alliance, Nebraska. His career in the U.S. Postal Service began as a letter carrier before becoming a Postal Inspector.  This career change brought Gary and his family to New Mexico.  Gary's role later transitioned to Director of Finance for the Management Sectional Center at the Roswell post office and he culminated his 30-year career as Postmaster in Roswell, New Mexico.  During his retirement, he enjoyed travel and golf.

Gary is survived by his wife of 62 years, his son David and wife Carole of Hobbs, NM, son Michael and wife Terrie of DuBois, PA, son Robert and wife Lisa of Albuquerque, NM, six grandchildren, five great grandchildren and dear nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorial donations may be made in Gary's memory to the Roswell Humane Society, 703 E. McGaffey St., Roswell, NM 88203 or a charity of your choice.

No services will be for Gary per his wishes.
