Garren Visser

April 2, 1987 — May 11, 2020

Garren Ellis Visser

Garren Ellis Visser was born to Ellis and Janet Visser on April 2, 1987, in Ontario, California.  Garren moved to Dexter, NM when he was six months old. He attended Dexter Elementary, Dexter Middle School and Goddard High School. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Dexter. He attended and graduated from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, CA with a bachelor’s degree majoring in Dairy Science with a minor in Agricultural Business.  After graduation he moved back to New Mexico and spent a few years in Roswell before he moved to Albuquerque.  During this time, Garren began his entrepreneurial career. He quickly made a name for himself amongst his industry and friends. Popular nicknames include Dude, Uncle Dude, the Milk Money Man, and the Mayor of Downtown.  He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family snowboarding, golfing, creating music, rooting for the Raiders (Raider Nation!) and the Los Angeles Dodgers, and living life to the fullest. Garren enjoyed his life more than most people do.

Garren went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 11, 2020. He is survived by his parents, Ellis and Janet Visser; his sisters Jessica Maloney and Megan Ragsdale; brother-in-laws Andrew Maloney and Joshua Ragsdale, and his four nephews Grant Maloney, Cole Maloney, Russell Ragsdale and Briggs Ragsdale. He also leaves behind his grandmother Ewouda Bouma and many uncles, aunts, cousins, extended family, friends, and loved ones. He is preceded in death by his grandfather’s Skip Bouma and Sam Visser; grandmother Johanna Visser and uncle Bobby Visser.

Garren was a true force in this world that was undeniable, unforgettable, and irreplaceable. His passion was people and his ability to make a lasting impression was one of his finest qualities. He held no judgment and loved all people from all walks of life. Those who were blessed to know him could not help but love him, all of him. Garren’s life tremendously impacted many with his smile, laugh, friendship, talents, conversations, generosity, kindness, big bear hugs and hilarious debates about anything and everything. His trademark was his huge beard, but his loving heart was even bigger. He truly lived for the moment and not a second of his time was wasted on this earth. We know there is a huge void in all the hearts of everyone who knew him. We will all see him again someday and we believe Heaven is celebrating (big time) with his presence. Jesus has called his name and we can only imagine the eternal joy he has encountered. We miss him deeply and life will never be the same without him. Garren’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him so dearly.
