Elisabeth Naylor

August 18, 1934 — July 14, 2019

A memorial service is scheduled for 11 am, Saturday, August 3, 2019 at Grace Community Church for Elisabeth Ruth Naylor (Sue) 84, who passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2019 at Sunset Villa Care Center.

Sue was born August 18, 1934 in Roswell, NM to Graciano Yriart and Lucille Yriart who preceded her in death. Sue’s husband Robert B. Naylor, brother Martin Yriart and her beloved grandson Brynn Naylor also preceded her in death.  Elisabeth married Robert Naylor on June 30, 1956. She is survived by her three sons, Ross Naylor and wife Kennetta, John Naylor and Scot Naylor and wife Kristi. Sue’s surviving grandchildren are Suzann, Mitch, Kelsey, Austin and Dane Naylor and numerous nieces and nephews.

Sue was born and raised here in Roswell. She grew up on the family ranch 52 miles North West of Roswell. Upon graduating from Roswell high she attended several universities before settling at University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona. She was active in Delta Delta Delta Sorority and went on to get her BA in Education. This is where Sue met Bob and their life started together. After graduating from the university in 1956, they moved to El Paso where Bob served two years in the military and Sue taught school. When Bob completed his military service, they returned to Roswell and started life on the family ranch. Bob worked with his father-in-law on the ranch and Sue raised their three boys. In 1977, they sold ranch. In 1982, Bob and Sue partnered with Tony and Joyce Treat and purchased Roswell Wool and Mohair. During this time, she worked with Bob in the office at the warehouse. Later on, they sold the business and she helped her son with Zia Sporting good until retiring.

Sue loved to travel, and they took many trips across the nation while Bob was active in New Mexico Wool Growers Association. When not traveling she enjoyed playing cards with her friends. Her main passion was her grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with them cooking, playing cards and telling stories. She enjoyed attending their sporting activities, dance recitals, and choir recitals.

Our Family would like to thank the staff at Sunset Villa Care Center for the excellent care they gave mom the last weeks of her life.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Brynn Naylor Memorial Tennis Tournament care of Pecos Valley Rotary, PO Box 612, Roswell, NM 88202-612.
