Doris Murial Taylor

Doris Murial Taylor, 88, went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, June 15, 2021. She was born Doris Murial Wimberly to Lela Opel and Porter Wimberly in Austin, TX on October 5, 1932. Graduated from Austin High School in May 1952 and married Buford Taylor the same month. Doris and Buford moved to Roswell in 1961 where she raised their three sons. Two sons born in Austin and third in Roswell.

Doris loved art and was a avid watercolor painter, including miniatures and even as small as a postage stamp. She was told by her art teacher in school that she had a natural talent. Doris loved family coming for the holidays, especially Christmas.

She is preceded in death by her husband Buford and son Jimmy.

Doris is survived by her sons Ron and his wife Marie and children Lloyd and Edrice; son Mike and his wife Julia; grandson Anthony and two great granddaughters Ada and Emily Tozier.

She will be missed until reunited with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 pm, Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at Ballard Funeral Home with funeral services being held at 10:30 am, Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at Ballard Funeral Home. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery.
