Ane (Anna) C. Nunez

Anna Calderon Nunez was born in Roswell, N.M. to Pablo Calderon Sr. and Candelaria Olguin Calderon on March 7, 1929. She spent her early life in San Patricio, N.M. She married Clemente S. Villescas on March 26, 1947 where they started their life together and raised their five children Clemente S. Villescas Jr. (Sonny), Dolores Rita Rivera, Jo Ann Marie Matta, Rebecca Patricia Wilson and Richard Villescas and his wife (Linda). She is also survived by her Aunt Petra. She then remarried Tommy “Thomas” R. Nunez raised Arturo Joseph Nunez, as her own. She also was blessed with 18 grandchildren 27 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.  Both husbands preceding her in death. She had another love of her life her companion Estrellita her life line given to her by her beloved husband Thomas.

Later, in years her and Thomas enjoyed dancing and going to the casino and living their life to the fullest. She loved decorating her home and going to thrift stores. She also enjoyed going to the Joy Senior Center where she would visit with her friends The Golfer’s. Anna enjoyed living her last month at the Good Life Assisted Living in Ruidoso, NM.

Anna is preceded in death by her beloved son Clemente S. Villescas Jr. “Sonny”; her grandson Clemente Christopher Villescas; parents Pablo and Candelaria Calderon and her Tio Abeslin Olquin; brothers Pablo Calderon Jr., Henry Calderon; sister Isabel Briggs and her beloved baby sister Angelina Jimenez.

Those honored to be pallbearers are Jose Berrones, Gabriel Matta, Daniel Roderick Jr., Joseph Rivera, Erik Villescas and Isaac Villescas. Honorary pallbearers are Arthur Nunez, Mark Anthony Herrera, TJ Nunez and Richard Burch.

A rosary will be held at 6:00 pm, Friday, August 30, 2019 at Ballard Funeral Home Chapel with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:15 am, Saturday, August 31, 2019 at Assumption Catholic Church with Father Jarek Nowacki officiating. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Friday, August 30, 2019 at Ballard Funeral Home.
