William E. McKinney

A funeral service will be held at Wesley United Methodist Church at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 29, 2006 in Tupelo, Miss. For William Elvin McKinney, 82, who passed away Saturday, August 26, 2006 at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center.

Mr. McKinney was born August 25, 1924 in Tupelo, Mississippi to William A. McKinney and Lottie Miller McKinney, who both preceded him in death. William married Fae Elizabeth Johnson on December 25, 1948 in Okolona, Mississippi; she also preceded him in death.

Survivors include his daughters, Michelle Olson and her husband Rich of Roswell, Renee Breitzman and her husband Mark, and Nate Breitzman; four great-grandchildren, Cameron, Emily and Katy Glaser, and Julianna Houston; one sister, Juanita Dodson, of Mantachie, Mississippi, and one brother, Billy McKinney and his wife Katie, of Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. One brother, Booker McKinney, preceded him in death.

William worked as an Industrial Engineer for Delta International in Tupelo, Mississippi. He and his wife Fae moved to Roswell from Mississippi 5 years ago, and were members of First United Methodist Church of Roswell. He particularly enjoyed singing with the Silver Chords, and being with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Memorial may be made to the First United Methodist Church Music Memorial Fund at 200 N. Pennsylvania, Roswell, NM 88201.

A memorial service will be scheduled in Roswell at a later date.

Local arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ballard Funeral Home and Crematory.
