Vivian Rose McClintock

A memorial graveside service for Vivian Rose McClintock, 94, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Picacho Cemetery in Picacho, New Mexico (Address: 29288 HWY 70, Mile Marker 293). Following the graveside service, those who wish to join the family are invited to share lunch and fellowship at St. Jude Mission Church Center (Community Hall), located at 28110 Peter Hurd Loop, San Patricio, New Mexico 88348.

Mrs. McClintock passed away on August 2, 2026, in Roswell, New Mexico. Cremation will take place under the direction of Ballard Funeral Home and Crematory.

Vivian was born on August 30, 1931, in Roswell, New Mexico, the daughter of Antonio La Riva and Genoveva Olguin La Riva.

Vivian grew up in Roswell and treasured the summers she spent in San Patricio surrounded by her many relatives. Those early years helped shape her lifelong love of family, friends, and simply being together with the people she loved.

Vivian was a true people person. She loved dancing, parties, family gatherings, and any occasion that brought people together. She had a fun-loving spirit and a playfully mischievous side that made being around her a joy. Vivian loved people, and people loved being around Vivian. Her warmth and sense of humor made gatherings brighter and created countless memories for her family and friends.

She also expressed her love for others through cooking and baking. Her kitchen was a place where food, family, conversation, and laughter naturally came together. Some of her greatest joys came from spending time with her grandchildren, playing with them and making ordinary moments special.

Above all, Vivian was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Whether she was dancing with friends, cooking for family, playing with her grandchildren, or adding a little playful mischief to the occasion, she knew how to enjoy life and share that joy with those around her. Her family will remember the laughter, warmth, and happiness she brought into their lives.

Vivian was married to Larry Salgado, with whom she shared 10 years of marriage until his passing in 1969. She later married Melvin McClintock, who preceded her in death in 1993. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Antonio and Genoveva La Riva; her granddaughter, Virginia Velasquez; and her brothers, Jose La Riva, Antonio La Riva, Fernando La Riva, and Augustine La Riva.

She is survived by her daughter, Maxine Vivian Farrar and husband Bryan Farrar; her sisters, Teresa Delgado and Mary Anastacia "Tacha" Sevy; her brothers, Roman La Riva, Raul La Riva, and Felix La Riva; her grandchildren, Valerie Kirkley and husband Ira Kirkley, Veronica Stephens, and Brandon Farrar; and her great-grandchildren, Noah Stephens, Julianna Stephens, Brett Kirkley, Alexia Kirkley, and Joshua Kirkley.

Vivian's 94 years were marked by devotion to family, cherished friendships, and a lifetime of caring for others. Her memory will live on through the generations of the family she loved and the many lives she touched.
