Veronica was born on April 21, 1912 to Frank and Annie Avery in Nova Scotia, Canada. Her parents have preceded her in death.
Veronica moved to Cambridge, Massachusetts at the age of 14. She worked at Harvard University in house keeping where Ted Kennedy helped her to learn English. She then worked at an electronic company until she retired.
She married Arthur McGowen he has preceded her in death. She then lived with Ernest Searles for 50 years. She is survived by a God daughter Varina Martell Crowley.
She loved her dogs and cat and also enjoyed quilting. She also enjoyed her many friends.
