Veronica Matta

March 11, 1977 — March 13, 2018

Veronica Martina Matta
God sent an Angel to live with us, and although He sent her with broken wings, she taught us so many things. She taught us how to love people who are different -- to love them if they act different or even if they look different. Our Angel taught us patience for those around us who need our help and not our criticism. Our Angel taught us we need to slow down and accept the things we cannot change regardless of how hard we try. She taught us to be strong despite the pain we are in. This is what she taught us through all her suffering. Life is fragile and we need to hold onto our loved ones regardless of the obstacles that life has thrown our way. The Angel I'm speaking of is Veronica. Veronica Matta was born in Douglas Wyoming on March 11, 1977 and took her place in Heaven on March 13, 2018. Veronica has lived in the Roswell/Dexter N.M. area since 1985. She graduated from Dexter High School in 1999, attended St. Peter's Catholic Church and was member of the Racquet Club. She enjoyed hugs and kisses, M & M's, pizza, fried eggs, winter fresh gum and long car rides. Her illuminating smile and the twinkle in her eyes captured the hearts of all who met her.

Veronica is preceded in death by her father Louis Matta Jr. She is survived by her mother Ramona Matta; her Papa Gerald Lucero; brother Louis Matta III and sister Leslie Weaver. She also leaves behind her beloved sister-of-the-heart MarySol Mojica; grandmother Frances Matta; nephews Louis Matta IV, Francisco Matta and Braylon Weaver, as well as nieces, Shay Wallace, Chelsea Dungey, Camilla Matta, and KayDee Weaver. She also leaves behind many uncles, aunts and cousins with the hope of seeing each other in the future.

A rosary will be held at 6:00 pm, Sunday, March 18, 2018 at St. Peter's Catholic Church with a Celebration of Life on Monday, March 19, 2018 at 10:00 am also at St. Peter's Catholic Church.
