Stewart Warren Jones, affectionately known as Bud, has passed away in Roswell, New Mexico. Born in East Taylor Town, Pennsylvania, on October 19, 1945, Bud's journey through life was marked by resilience, kindness, and a deep passion for helping others. During his time on this earth, Bud wore many hats but found his true calling as a Mechanic for the Roswell Independent School District. His skilled hands and unwavering dedication kept the wheels turning smoothly for the school community. Beyond his professional role, Bud proudly served in the US Navy aboard the U.S.S. Austin from 1963 to 1966. His commitment to his country was honored with the medal of National Defense and Armed Forces Expeditionary Service. Bud's warm personality touched the lives of all who knew him. Always sporting a smile and ever-ready to lend a helping hand, he tackled challenges with a spirit of optimism that earned him the endearing nickname "Mr. Gadget." His ability to fix just about anything became legendary among friends and family. The memory of his cheerful presence and can-do attitude will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known him. Bud is preceded in death by his parents Stewart Jones and Bernice Jones; Brothers Thomas Jones of Laingsburg, HI; Donald Jones of Lake Orion, MI; Father in-law Maurico Brito; and Mother in-law Beatriz Brito of Roswell, NM.
Bud is survived by his wife, Nadine Jones of 37 years; Son Tim and wife Lynn Jones of Detroit, MI; Daughters Laura Steward Martin and husband James Martin of Bartlett, TN; Brothers Rodney Jones and Charles Jones of Lapeer, MI; Sister Linda and husband Jerry Lake of Lapeer, MI; Sister Doris and husband Michael Schmiedknect of Sebring, Fl; and Grandchildren Conor Steward & Alison Steward of Bartlett, TN; as well as many nieces and nephews of California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Alabama, Louisiana, Michigan and Utah.
Bud leaves behind a host of grieving family and friends who will carry his memory in their hearts forever. Though he may have departed this world, his spirit will live on through the countless lives he touched with his laughter and love. Stewart Warren Jones will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Your light will continue to shine brightly in our hearts forevermore.
As friends and loved ones gather to honor Bud's life, a Rosary followed by a Memorial Mass will be held at St. John's Catholic Church in Roswell Friday, April 5, 2024, at 10:00am. Interment will be held at General Douglas McBride Veteran's Cemetery after the services.Friday, April 5, 2024
