Ruben Palma, a respected retired fireworks manufacturer for Longhorn Fireworks, passed away on June 13, 2026, in Roswell, New Mexico. Born on May 1, 1936, in Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Mexico, Ruben lived a life marked by dedication to his craft and devotion to his family and community.

Ruben’s career in fireworks manufacturing was distinguished by his commitment to quality and safety, contributing to many memorable celebrations throughout his lifetime. His expertise and passion for his work left a lasting impression on those who knew him in the industry.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Julia Palma; his son, Manuel Majalca of Virginia; and his daughters, Norma Palma, Elda Palma-Fierno, and Zulma Palma, all of Roswell. He also leaves behind seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, whose lives he touched deeply. Ruben's family circle extends out of country to his brothers Elias Palma and Rodolfo Palma, who reside in Chihuahua, Mexico.

Ruben was preceded in death by his father, Manuel Palma, and mother, Teresa Anchondo; his first wife, Avilia Palma, with whom he had three daughters; and his son, Ruben Palma, Jr., and he also mourned the loss of his brothers Fidencio Palma, Elvio Palma, Ramon Palma, Hector Palma, and Leopoldo Palma.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Larry Fierro, Jorge Ortiz, Edward Perez, Ricardo Avila, Trong Nugyen, and Hector Palma, reflecting the respect and affection he earned from friends and loved ones alike.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on June 16, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Ballard Funeral Home, 910 S Main St, Roswell, NM 88203. This will be followed by a Rosary at 6:00 PM at the same location.

A Mass celebrating Ruben’s life will be held on June 17, 2026, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at St. Peter Catholic Church, located at 111 E Deming St, Roswell, NM 88203.

Ruben Palma’s legacy endures through his family, his work, and the many lives he touched. His memory will remain a source of strength and inspiration to all who knew him.
