Obituary

With great reverence and deep affection, the family of Ronald William Deal shares news of his peaceful passing on August 14, 2026, in Roswell, New Mexico. Born in Jacksonville, Florida, on May 15, 1953, Ronald’s life was one marked by quiet strength, abiding love, and a commitment to those he cherished most.

Ronald’s journey began amidst the gentle warmth of the Florida sun, born to Claude Deal and Elda Jones. Though both his beloved parents have preceded him in death, their lessons and love lived on in the way Ronald carried himself—with humility, honesty, and a steadfast sense of responsibility.

Throughout his seventy-three years, Ronald embodied the virtues of devotion and principle that defined his character. He was a devoted husband to Febe Esther Deal, with whom he forged a loving partnership built on mutual respect and boundless loyalty. Their marriage was a constant source of warmth and humor, a haven where family and friends always felt welcome.

Ronald’s joy was greatest in the company of his children and grandchildren, whose lives will forever be brightened by his wisdom and encouragement. He is survived by his son, Joshua Deal, of Waycross, Georgia; his daughters, Naomi Ikeda, of Fort Valley, Georgia and Rachel Deal, of New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, Canada; and his treasured grandchildren: David Petry, Joseph Revard, and Benjamin Deal. Each one carries within them a piece of Ronald’s legacy—his patience, his curiosity, and his unwavering support.

A man of gentle demeanor, Ronald’s presence was a comfort to many. He met life’s trials with grace, and his words were as steadying as they were kind. To his friends, Ronald was a confidant; to his family, a rock; to all, an example of uncommon dignity.

Ronald was a member of Calvary Chapel of Roswell.  He was a committed Christian who loved the Lord Jesus Christ, and wanted to show the world Jesus, in his day-to-day walk.  He was a kindhearted individual, always willing to extend help to widows and anyone he met.  He loved adventure and having fun, traveling all over our country, going out to eat.  He also loved woodworking and farming.  Put simply, Ron loved life.

Ronald’s journey will be honored and celebrated by all who loved him. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at a visitation on August 28, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Ballard Funeral Home, 910 S Main St, Roswell, NM. A funeral service will be held the following morning, August 29, at 10:00 AM at Calvary Chapel, 2901 W. Fourth St, Roswell. Immediately afterward, Ronald will be laid to rest at South Park Cemetery, 3101 S Main St, Roswell, with interment beginning at 11:00 AM.

Though the world feels diminished by Ronald’s absence, those fortunate enough to have known him will carry his memory forward—rooted in kindness, sustained by love, and honored in every act of quiet courage. His legacy is reflected in the lives of his dearest ones, and in the heartfelt stories and shared laughter that now become cherished memory.

In both sunshine and shadow, Ronald William Deal walked a path of decency and compassion. As we bid him farewell, we give thanks for a life so beautifully lived and so deeply loved.  We'll see you in heaven, Ron!!!
