A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m., Monday, August 7, 2006 at the Assumption Catholic Church for Richard Lee Briseno Jr., 23, of Roswell who passed away on August 3, 2006 at his home. A mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 8, 2006 at the Assumption Catholic Church. Fr. Bill McCann will officiate. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery. There will also be Military Graveside Services conducted.

Our beloved Richard Lee Briseno Jr., age 23, knocked on heavens door August 3, 2006. He was of the Catholic faith, and member of the Assumption Catholic church.

Richard Lee Briseno was born February 19, 1983 to Ricardo and Carmen Briseno who survive him. He is preceded in death by his great-grandfather C.C. Gonzalez and great-grandmother Margarita Gonzalez. He is survived by his loving wife Jamie who stood by his side through thick and thin and his two beautiful children, Lily and Ricardo Lee Briseno III, as he called them babygirl and babyboy, who are his life. He has three brothers, Nathanial Briseno of Arizona and Nico and Matthew Briseno, of Roswell, his brothers were everything to him, and brother-in-law Curtis Dotson of Roswell. Richard is the oldest of four boys. Everyone who knows the family knew that the boys are the life of their parents. Richard never entered, or left his parents home without hugs, kisses and I love you mijo be careful. Richard is a 2001 graduate of Goddard High School. After he graduated, he enlisted in the US Army. He served time and fought for his country in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Richard was so full of life and he loved his family very much and would do anything for them. After he got out of the Army, he returned to Roswell where he worked for Wal-mart before going to work for the US Postal Service where he was a letter carrier. He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, fishing, playing poker with his buddies, and his car. Richard is a very special young man, he impacted so may lives especially his dad and mama. He will be missed greatly. Richard believed in God and was never afraid to say, dont forget to pray for me. Our lives will never be the same without him. He is also survived by his grandparents Prudencio and Jila Briseno of Artesia, Gary and Virginia Parmley of Roswell, grandparents in-laws Evelyn Wildman and Opal and Paul Dotson of Oregon. He is also survived bi his uncles and aunts, Shanna and Jimmy Bock of Colorado who he loved to visit, Gerald and Angela Lee of Santa Fe who he loved to have a good time and laugh with. Michelle and David Clark of Roswell who had a huge part in raising Richard and they will be the god parents of his son, Albert and Linda Briseno of Lubbock Texas, Angie and Frank Vargas of Roswell, Florencio and Erlinda Briseno of Artesia, Solomon Briseno of Artesia, Lupe Campos of Artesia who shared some tough times with us, Dolores Barrigan of Artesia, Ruben and Delia Briseno of Dumas, Texas. Uncle Gary and Kelly Minard of Roswell and uncle Raybo Perez of Roswell. Lots of special cousins, Kamera and Marissa Clark of Roswell, Mary Margaret, Gerald and Gabriel Lee of Santa Fe, Salvador and Joseph Briseno of Clovis and Olivia Vargas who went by aunt Olivia of Roswell who loved him from day one, and numerous great aunts and uncles. Special friends, Macho of Portales, Ray of Roswell, Monte of Roswell, Mario of Roswell, Sean of Roswell and Chris of Roswell. We would like to acknowledge RuthAnn as one of his special friends that was always there for him day or night. Special father and mother-in-law Marvin and Della Davis. Marvin, David, Matthew and Curtis were his fishing buddies.
P Pallbearers will be Nathanial Briseno, Nico Briseno, Matthew Briseno, Curtis Dotson, Gerald Lee, David Clark, Monte Reyes, Macho and Chris Madrid.
