Our Brother
My big brother, the one who led the way.
I watched your every step and the things you would say.
I’d learn a lot, including what not to do.
You had some great stories to tell, some were illegal too.
The eldest of seven and wore that title with pride.
When it came to your family, you always tried.
Beyond the cool guy, deep inside was a son, a bro, a nino, a pops and pampo in one.
Compared to others, like you there was none.
Your body was tired, but you stayed longer for us.
I’m going to miss the way you would fuss.
But even more than that, I will miss your jokes, and the love that you shared.
I pray that God shows you how much we all cared.
No matter your sickness or what you went through,
I hope you know how much we love you.
Don’t worry about Mama, we’ll shower her with love,
Until the day we join you above.
