Odis Word

Odis Wilson Word went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, May 9, 2018. He was 84 years old.

Odis was born on July 20, 1933 to Alton Lee Word and Sarah Lee (McNew) Word in Stanton, TX.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Virginia Stout Word and his sisters Patsy, Jane Donna, Kathryn and Judy.

Odis is survived by his children Jimmy Word and wife Liz, Judy DeLaRosa and husband Martin; grandchildren Clay Word and wife Roxanne, Jessica Kirk and husband Matthew, Megan DeLaRosa; great grandchildren Abby and Jake; sister Sue and sister-in-law Kay and husband Kenneth. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Odis loved the Lord with all his heart and wanted others to know how much Jesus loves us.

Odis loved his family deeply and was so proud of all of them.

The family would like to thank all his family, friends and caregivers for your prayers, love and support through the years.

A memorial service is scheduled for 11 am, Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Adventure Bible Church, 1905 S. Main St., Roswell, NM. with Pastor Tim Arlet officiating.
