Mike Garcia
Mike Garcia, 81, beloved Father, Spouse, Son, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather was called to his eternal resting place on Monday, July 29, 2024. He entered this world on January 31, 1943, in Roswell, NM, born to Mike and Arcelia Garcia.
Mike is preceded in death by his wife Christina Garcia and sons Manuel Garcia and Mark Garcia, his parents Mike and Arcelia Garcia, his brother Robert Garcia, and his sisters, Patricia Gonzalez, Loretta Garcia, Rose Garcia, and Dolores Garcia. Those left to cherish his memory is his Daughter Irene A. Lucero, Son Michael A. Garcia and his wife Sonya, Grandchildren Stormy Garcia, Shady Nguyen and her husband Tan, Cameron Lucero, and Morgan Lucero, Great Grandchildren Zophia and Elena, and his sisters: Teresa Pacheco and her husband Greg, Beatrice Burns, and Brothers Thomas Garcia, Danny Garcia, and Louis Garcia along with numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and nephews. He will also be missed dearly by he and his wife Christina’s beloved canine companions, Pequeno and Precious.
Mike had a great love for his family and an even bigger love for his canine companion, Pequeno. When Mike was not watching his western shows, he could be found enjoying a new sudoku puzzle, building projects with craft wood, heading out to bingo, or enjoying his wife’s home cooked meals she often prepared for him. He had a positive outlook on life and could always be heard cracking a joke or sharing a laugh with those he loved. He enjoyed company and conversations and was sure to have his favorite drink (Pepsi) close by.
Mike enlisted during the Vietnam War conflict serving in the US Army from June 1962-1966 and was stationed in Germany as a supply support specialist. After his time in the service, he worked many years at TMC/ Nova Bus as an assembler. He was a member of the Saint John’s Men’s Club, later becoming known as Knights of Columbus where he achieved the rank of Grand Knight. He and his late wife had a passion for the Knights of Columbus and enjoyed volunteering for any activities they may be involved in.
