Melissa Gayle North

Melissa North, 60 was called to her eternal resting place on October 7, 2023. Melissa Gayle North was a wonderful wife to Anthony, daughter to William and Gwen Baldwin, sister to Mark and Cari, aunt to Alysha McCreedy and Ethan Baldwin and great friend to many. Her heart belonged to her precious children Shay, Elizabeth, Jonathan, Logan and Noah North

Melissa lived her life with kindness and love. She used her many talents, finances, time and energy to serve and help children, initially working in the inner city of Milwaukee Wi for over 20 years before returning to Roswell and spending the last 17 years at Del Norte Elementary. She was a strong child advocate, putting the needs of any child who needed her ahead of all else. Nothing made Melissa happier than to spread light and laughter onto those that had the privilege of meeting or working with her. She was the best listener and counselor one could ask for, full of encouragement and hope.

Melissa was a cancer survivor, after being diagnosed with Ovarian cancer in 2006 and even whilst dealing with the many difficulties that treatment created, she could still be found in the classroom, allowing her kids to travel on the journey of healing with her. Melissa was well known in the community of Roswell and could not go anywhere without bumping into former students or colleges who always came over and said hi.

Life will never be the same without our Melissa by our sides. We are grateful for the countless memories we cherish and hold so close. Melissa was all things amazing. Her loss will not only be felt by those close to her but all in her extended family.

Her graveside funeral will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, October 21, 2023 at South Park Cemetary. All are welcome to say goodbye to this amazing lady.
