Mary Verdoza

Graveside service will be held 11 am, Friday, January 13, 2017 at St. Joseph Cemetery in Ft. Stockton, NM for Mary Lou Sanchez Verdoza who passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 in Artesia, NM. She was born on January 17, 1939 in Alpine, TX to Juan F. and Carlota Leyva Sanchez. Mary married Ruperto B. Verdoza on January 13, 1960 in Ft. Stockton, TX.

Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Ruperto B. Verdoza and her parents Juan F. and Carlota Leyva Sanchez.

Mary was a lover of laughter and never ended one day without having giggled her way through it. She enjoyed creating and tirelessly worked on each project until it was a product of the utmost quality. Mary lived her life with incredible sincerity and did everything wholeheartedly. She will be remembered for her remarkable wisdom and fun-loving spirit.

Surviving Mary are her children: Jimmy Ray Verdoza (Carmen), Robert Lee Verdoza (Maria), Velma Lou Cano (Paz Manual), Velda Lisa Verdoza (Gina), and Orlando Ray Verdoza (Ana). She is also survived by her siblings Enriqueta (Kate) Cruz, Elena (Shorty) Blackman, Anita Gosslin, Juanita Salas, Eleno (Neno) Sanchez, Francis (Connie) Dominguez, Clara Aranda, and Dora Sanchez. Mary also leaves behind her grandchildren Tiffany, Jonathan, Jimmy Jr, Sabrina, LaVelda, Victoria, Lunicia, Mark, Ray, Christina, and Marcus as well as 10 great-grandchildren.
