Mary Sepulveda
The Matriarch of the family gained her Angel wings on Monday Sept 6th at Good Life Assisted Living Facility in Artesia, NM, where she had been a resident since March 12, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Deming, NM to Hildefonso and Raquel Gamboa on October 2, 1928. Her parents pre-deceased her as well as husband Felix Sepulveda in 2011, brothers, Abraham and Henry Gamboa, sister Lola Trujillo and great-great grandchild, Baby Bree.
She is survived by children, Rosa (Gabriel) Martinez and their extended families, Samuel (Bernice) Martinez and their extended families and David (Lydia) Sepulveda and their extended families which include 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 29 great-great grandchildren and 1 great-great-great grandchild which meant that she was a 6 generation Grandma! Also surviving her are brothers, Chito (Concha) Gamboa of Deming, NM, Trini (Rosaherminia) Gamboa of Artesia, NM, Adrian Gamboa of Las Cruces, NM and her sisters, Consuelo Sandoval of Tucson, AZ, Barbara Carrasco of Gilroy, CA, Romelia Gutierrez of Las Cruces, NM, Raquel Fimbres of Albuquerque, NM, and Yolanda Alacorn of Las Cruces, NM and many nieces and nephews including Annie Gonzalez whom she loved like a daughter. Thanks, Annie, for always keeping in touch with her and making the routine phone calls, she always looked forward to them and would tell the staff what a beautiful and loving person you were.
Services will be held at Ballard Funeral Home, Thursday, September 9, 2021 at 10:00 am with interment immediately following at South Park Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with her loving husband. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Michael, Sammy and Joe Martinez, James Ortega, Saul Prieto and Jason Sepulveda. Selected to be honorary pallbearers will be Arturo and Bobby Gamboa, Frankie Ortega and Fidencio (Lencho) DelAngel.
Affectionately known as Baby Grandma, she will be remembered for her well-kept hair, makeup, and beautifully manicured nails. She would match her outfits with her jewelry and never went anywhere if she was not looking just right. She was also a fanatic about having a beautiful yard and her beautiful flowers (Thank you Lencho for always maintaining her yard).
To the staff at Good Life, thank you so much for the care you took to make sure she always looked good and was taken care of. All of you from the office staff to the CNA's to the kitchen staff went above and beyond to make sure she was happy. To Encompass Hospice team, you did an outstanding job taking care of all her needs up to the very end. God Bless you!
All of the kids have their own special memories of their lives with her, cherish your memories of the good times that you had with her and grandpa.
Lastly to Stephanie, Lencho and Frankie, we could not have done it without you. Frankie, thank you so much for taking her to her doctor's appointments when your mom wasn't able to take her. You would make the trips to Artesia and bring her to Roswell and take her back without any hesitation. She loved her road trips with you. Stephanie, thank you and Lencho from the bottom of our hearts for all you did for her throughout the last year and a half. You never hesitated to do anything that was needed for her and we will always remember that. GOD BLESS YOU and we love you. We will all miss her dearly, but she is resting peacefully.
Anyone attending is asked to follow Covid Protocols and a mask is required.
Grandma
The day has come for you to receive the Lord’s embrace
Peace and tranquility expressed upon your beautiful face.
We will forever be thankful for the memories we shared,
Your unconditional love and knowing you always cared.
Your genuine smile as you greeted us at the door
The one constant stability that is no more.
Surrounded by those who loved you as you took you last breath
Knowing you were not alone as you left this earth.
Thank you, Grandma, my pilar of strength and love
Fly high with the Angels, guide and watch over us from above.
