Marvin Lee Roberts, 74, of Roswell, New Mexico, passed away peacefully at home after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Marvin was born in Killeen, Texas, to Ralph Roberts and Lois Hendrix. He was one of three children, growing up alongside his sister, Cynthia Richardson, and his brother, Charles Roberts.
Marvin proudly served his country as a United States Marine before later retiring from the U.S. Postal Service. He was a man of quiet strength, deep faith and unwavering dedication to his family.
He was married to his beloved wife, Linda Roberts, for 47 years. Together they built a life filled with love, music, and lasting memories. Marvin was the proud father of four children: Alan Knight, Pamela Taylor, Kimberly Brickeen and Sandra Braziel. His legacy lives on through his 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, all of whom were a source of great pride and joy.
Music was Marvin's lifelong companion. He played guitar, wrote heartfelt songs and sag with a voice that carried both soul and sincerity. For him, music was not just a passion, but a way to express emotion, worship and find peace.
Those who knew Marvin will remember his loving and generous nature. He was the kind of man who gave freely-of his time, his wisdom and his heart.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; his children and their spouses; all of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his sister, Cynthia. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lois, and his brother, Charles.
Graveside services will be held Friday, October 3, 2025, at General Douglas McBride Veterans Cemetery, at 2:00 pm. Roswell Honor Guard will perform honors for Marvin.
