Lois Ann Dominguez
July 19, 1947 - April 15, 2016
Mrs. Lois Dominguez passed away April 15, 2016 at the age of 68 in Albuquerque NM. She left peacefully while in the comfort and love of her husband and family. She was born to Carl and Juanita Burleson on July 19, 1947 in Roswell NM, both of her parents have preceded her in death.

Mrs. Dominguez was a lifelong resident of Roswell NM who dearly loved the community that she was raised in. In 1980 Lois married the love of her life Andrew Dominguez and together they spent the next 36 years together. She was a blessing and joy to all. She spent much of her time at the Joy Center as a client representative caring for the elderly. Her passion for helping others knew no limits. Whatever the need was she made sure it was met; bringing meals to the homes of the elderly, driving people to doctor appointments or running errands. Task that most people take for granted she made sure that those who couldn't would have someone available to help them.

Lois was an avid artisan of crocheting. She perfected her craft over many decades and loved to create wonderful works including afghan blankets, pot holders, and even hats. Her skill of putting string to cloth turned into an opportunity to organize a sewing circle at Sunset Care Center. Her natural innate love of others brought many of the elderly at the facility together for this social time but it didn't extend to only sewing. Soon she also incorporated a game night as well giving access to all the seniors who wanted to participate the option to do so.

Lois loved to cook for her family and friends and through many years of experience she could captivate them with her signature chimichanga's. She could make the most stellar biscuits and gravy, homemade tamales and the forever loved New Mexican favorite red chili. Animals found a soft spot in Mrs. Dominguez's heart. She was an equal opportunist for both cats and dogs loving both. Any animal that happened by was guaranteed a free meal and a lucky few permanent shelter. Her grandkids thought of their grandmother as a boundless joy and they cherished her company as much as she did theirs. A grandmother's love is special and unique and that love will be a lasting legacy to each child.

Survivors include her husband Andrew Dominguez of Roswell NM; sons Doug Sparnon and Mary of Roswell NM, AJ Dominguez of Roswell NM; brothers Roy Burleson of Roswell NM, Dennis Burleson and Yvonne of Edmond OK; sister Theresa Agua of Union City OK; 8 grandkids and 1 great grandchild. Preceding her are her parents and one daughter Lori Sanders.

A funeral service for Mrs. Lois Dominguez will be held in the Ballard Chapel on Thursday April 21, 2016 at 2:00pm with burial to follow at South Park Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers are Doug Sparnon, AJ Dominguez, Dennis Burleson, Chris Burleson, Izaac Marquez and Jonathon Sparnon. Honorary pallbearers are Carl Burleson and Cheno Pichardo.
