Laura Jean Cameron Jennings was born August 3, 1929, in Long Beach, California, to Barbara Jean and Herbert Cameron. She married Emmit M. Jennings, "that handsome doctor she was not going to fall for," on September 23, 1950, in Los Angeles. She was predeceased by her parents and her brother and sister-in-law, and her loving husband of 50 years.
Over the course of the next ten (10) years, they had seven children, Kathy, Mike (Molly), Pat (Kathy), Teresa, Peggy (David), Colleen (Chuck), and Maureen (Ted). Over the decades, she stayed quite busy and active with family activities, as well as keeping up with church and community activities. With seven kiddos, Laura's time was full as a housewife and mother- and a very good one, at that! Her legacy is large, producing 13 grandkids and 17 great grandkids. As well as several pups, grandpups, and great grandpups. She loved us all and she loved to say that "She had a great bunch of coconuts!"
Services for Laura will be held on Thursday, January 22nd, 2026, with the Rosary at 1:30 pm, followed by the Funeral Mass at 2:00 pm at the Assumption Catholic Church, 2808 North Kentucky Avenue, Roswell, New Mexico 88201, with a graveside service to follow at South Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family would request donations to be made to the Poor Clare Monastery, 809 West 19th Street, Roswell, New Mexico 88201.
