His courage and steadfastness were evident in the many risks he took to save others, a testament to his selflessness and devotion to duty. Rising through the ranks to become a Lieutenant in the Roswell Fire Department, Ken left a lasting legacy of leadership and courage among his peers.

An "all-around Man’s Man," Ken was known for his remarkable skill in fixing things—whether welding fences or working on cars. His hands brought solutions and comfort to those around him. In addition to his service and familial devotion, Ken enjoyed fishing and rebuilding old cars, pursuits that spoke of his love for both nature and craftsmanship. He was also proud to have been a member of both the Elks and Eagles organizations, further showcasing his community involvement.

Ken is survived by his children: Jerry Dillard of Amarillo, Texas; JJ Dillard; Ryan Lay; Terri Dillard of Dallas, Texas; Cindy (Jay) McClain of Roswell; and Lisa ((Kevin) Daughtry of Logan, New Mexico. His legacy continues through his grandchildren—Justice, Jonathan, Tyesha, Christy, Breanna, Lindsey, and Sharlie—and his eleven great-grandchildren, who were a joyous part of his later years. He is also survived by his sisters Wanda Wright and Glenda Howard of Dallas, Texas, and Tammy Evans of Roswell, New Mexico.
