Josephine Torrez

Josephine F. Torrez, age 87, of Albuquerque, NM, passed away Thursday, April 21, 2016, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Vincent Espinosa. She was born in Carlsbad, NM September 3, 1928; she was the daughter of Cosme and Casimira Flaco.

Josephine is survived by her husband, Manuel "Sil" Torrez of 68 years, 3 brothers: Johnny Flores, Jose Flaco, and Hilario Flaco. She was raised as a young girl in Roswell, NM by Manuela "Memo" Flores along with first cousin, Esther Balschmidt. Josephine was a mother of 6 children, sons: Michael (Marsha) Torrez, Martin Torrez and Markus (Angie) Torrez and daughters: Priscilla (Jim) Rowe, Sylvia (Victor) Amparan and Louise (Gilbert) Espinosa.

Josephine loved children, in addition to her own children; she had 10 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly. A resident of Albuquerque, NM, Josephine was a parishioner of St. Bernadette Catholic Church.

A rosary and viewing for Josephine will be at 7:00 pm, Monday, April 25, 2016, at Ballard Funeral Home, 910 South Main, Roswell, NM. A mass is scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at St. John's Catholic Church, 506 South Lincoln Avenue, with burial to follow at South Park Cemetery.
