Josephine Montoya

With much sadness in our hearts Josephine Montoya, 72, passed away Monday, February 19, 2024 surrounded my her loved ones. She was born March 6, 1951 in Roswell, NM to Pablo Montoya and Adelina Serna Montoya who preceded her in death.

Those left to honor and cherish her memory are her daughters Sarah Poncedeleon and Jennifer Poncedeleon of Roswell, NM; brother Rick Montoya and wife Janie of Edgewood, NM; sisters Tina Juarez, Ann Montoya and husband Nino, Ida Montoya and Mary “Wera” Villegas all of Roswell, NM; grandchildren Esperanza Poncedeleon, Lexi Poncedeleon, Fabian Aguilar, Anazayah Guevara, Ahmiah Guevara, Homero Valenzuela, Humberto Valenzuela Jr. and Ahmir Howard.

Josephine was a Christian and had strong faith in God. She worked at Los Pasitos for about 12 years as an Early Intervention Specialist. Josephine loved being around her family but especially all her grandchildren. She was an amazing grandma who would do anything to help out and be there for them and anyone. She was so funny sometimes, she used to love to dance and play jokes on her siblings. Josephine will be missed and remembered every day; Heaven is so lucky to have her.

A celebration of her life is being planned and all family and friends will be notified of the dates.
