Irene Barela

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, March 8, 2018 at South Park Cemetery for Irene B. Barela who passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2018. She was born March 15, 1953 to Manuel and Mary Artiaga in Ruidoso, NM.

Irene is survived by her husband David Barela of 43 years; son Xavier Barela and fiancée Vanessa Reyes; four grandchildren Elijah Barela, Jasmine Barela, Christian Barela and Xavier Barela Jr.; five brothers Manuel Artiaga Jr. of Roswell, NM, Joe Artiaga and wife Sophia of Roswell, NM, James (Jimmy) Artiaga and wife Elizabeth Roswell, NM, Eddie Artiaga of Levelland, TX and Richard Artiaga and wife Tiffany of Roswell, NM; two sisters Mary Moore and husband Dennis of Smyer, TX and Carol Sanchez and husband Robert of Lubbock, TX; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews

She is preceded in death by her parents Manuel and Mary Artiaga and maternal grandmother Henrietta Bihl and maternal grandfather Albert Bihl.

Irene was a homemaker most of her life, she was a loving mother, sister, aunt and grandmother she will be dearly missed by many.
