Helen Herbert

Helen M. Herbert,
A long-time resident of both Roswell and Ruidoso, N.M. passed away on April 3, 2018.
She was 97 years old her daughters, son and some of her many grandchildren were with
her. Helen was born in Sedan, Kansas on January 11,1921 and moved to Roswell as a young girl.
She married the love of her life, Maurice B. Herbert. They raised five children in Roswell and attended
St. Peter Church. He preceded her in death in 1975 their sixth child, Marsha Kay died at birth. Their
children are Helen Cox and husband Jerry of Roswell, Phyllis Starr her caretaker in Ruidoso and Roswell,
Joyce Mares and husband Dave ( recently deceased ) of Fort Collins, Carol Mondy of Arkansas, who also
preceded her in death in 2014, Mike Herbert and wife Linda of Las Cruces. Helen had 17 grandchildren,
27 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Graveside service for the family was conducted
by Mike Herbert at South Park Cemetery in Roswell on April 4, 2018. Helen will be greatly missed by all her
loving family and friends. The family wishes to thank Arlene Brown, MD of Ruidoso, Sarah East PA of Roswell
Kindred Hospice, especially Chaplin Tim.
