George Kimble Hibbard, Jr. passed away at Spring River Nursing Home on August 19th, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis.

Kim was born in La Jolla, California on December 17th, 1949. Kiim lived his entire life in Roswell. In his early days, Kim lived on South Pennsylvania Avenue, among many longtime Roswell families. The Jennings (Tom, lifetime friend), Police Chief Tommy Thompson, the Detwilers, Fonzvilles, Frenches, Gondas, Harrisons, Hendersons, Hills.

Kim attended Military Heights Elementary School, New Mexico Military Institute and Iowa State University following in his father’s footsteps. He received a BS in Animal Science. He worked with the wool purchasing department of Caron Spinning Company, Rochelle, Ill. He took over the management of the Bond Baker, Inc. Warehouse on September 1, 1973.

Along with his father, Hibbard Lamb Feeders bought and sold wool and lambs across the state of New Mexico, necessitating two wool warehouses in Roswell and Artesia.

Like his father, Kim loved the sheep business through good and bad times. Kim loved to sleep out in the pastures protecting his flock. Kim was an avid water skier, snow skier, golfer and pilot where New Mexico skies became his love of adventure… Kim was enthusiastic supporter of Roswell and surrounding communities. Often purchasing 4 H Livestock from neighboring families.

Kim was preceded in death by his parents George and Mary Louise Hibbard. Kim was also preceded in death by his wife, Debbie Jensen Hibbard.

Kim is survived by his sister’s Kathie Lee Hibbard of Santa Fe, New Mexico and Cynthia Hibbard Mimovich of Albuquerque, New Mexico.

A Memorial Service will be held on October 6, 2026, at 1:30 pm, at the New Mexico Military Institute Chapel presided by Rev. Susan Pigott, from St Andrew’s Church. NMMI Chapel is located at 3 Campus Circle.
