Floyde Coronado

Floyde Coronado, age 84, a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, went to be with our Lord on August 4, 2025. She passed away peacefully at home.

Floyde Coronado was born to Melescio and Biesenta Aragon on September 11, 1940. She married her life partner, Albino Coronado, on June 28, 1958, in Ft Sumner, New Mexico. They moved to Roswell in 1967 where they raised 3 children. They have 5 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends; shopping and her favorite pass time was going to the casino.

She worked for Longhorn Manufacturing as a supervisor for 30 years before spending several years as a volunteer at the Joy Center.

She was proceeded in death by both parents, Melescio and Biensenta Aragon; her husband Albino Coronado; her son Rick Coronado; grandson Victor Mendoza; a great-granddaughter Azariah Gonzales; as well as 3 brothers, Frank Aragon, Castulo Aragon, Archie Aragon; and 3 sisters, Melescia Lopez, Sofia Gallegos, and Christina Portillo.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Gloria Coronado of Roswell, and Angela (Lupe) Torrez of Roswell; 4 grandchildren, Stephanie Sanchez and spouse Loretta Sanchez, Timothy Torres and spouse Anna Torres, Jennifer Torres and spouse James Robertson, and Michael DeSantiago, all of Roswell; 12 great-grandchildren, Tiffany Sisneros, Christopher Torrez, Xavier Gonzales, Victor Mendoza Jr., Nevaeh Gonzales, Isabella, Mireya, and Marvel Torres all of Roswell, as well as Gaby and Mia Martinez of Las Cruces. They all enjoyed spending time with their grandma.

Pallbearers will be Timothy Torres, Michael DeSantiago, Christopher Torrez, Xavier Gonzales, Victor Mendoza, James Robertson, Robert Coronado and Loretta Sanchez.

There will be a visitation for Floyde at Ballard Funeral Home, on Friday August 8, 2025, from 2 – 6 pm. The Rosary will be recited at 6 pm, in Ballard Funeral Chapel. A Mass will be held at St. Peter’s Catholic Church Saturday morning on August 9, 2025, at 9 am. The burial will follow at South Park Cemetery.
