Florence Stubbs

A Remembrance Celebration is scheduled for 2:00 pm, Sunday, June 5, 2016 at #1 Brazos Circle for Florence Caryl Stubbs, 93, who passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2016 at Mission Arch Care Center.

Florence was born December 30, 1922 in Dexter, NM to Charles Sterrett and Vesta Pershing Sterrett who preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Albert A. Stubbs; brothers Calvin Sterrett and Leroy Sterrett.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons Bruce A. Stubbs and wife Judy; Charles W. Stubbs and wife Judy; daughter Caryl L. Avery; sister-in-law Barbara Sterrett Reeves; six grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Florence was a lifelong resident of Roswell, NM where she was a member of Trinity Methodist and previously a session member of First Presbyterian Church. She was also a member of a C.C. Extension Club. Florence received her Bachelor's degree in Home Economics at NMSU in 1945. She was Assistant Liberian at Roswell High and Librarian at Mountain View Middle School.
