Esther Vandeveer

Graveside services for Esther Kay Vandeveer will be at 10 am, Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at the Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Roswell, NM.
Esther Kay Vandeveer was the third child born to Frank Wesley Vandeveer and Willie Mae Marcom Vandeveer. She was born on November 12, 1951 in Pecos, Reeves, Texas. She passed away Monday, August 7, 2017 at the Casa Maria Healthcare Center in Roswell, NM.
Esther's family moved to Roswell shortly after her birth. She attended East Side Elementary School and East Grand Plains Elementary where she attended special education classes. She loved all the holiday's, especially Christmas, she would decorate and would always wear something special to celebrate. Growing up, the family always had pets and she was very fond of all of them, especially the cats.
Being a resident at Casa Maria for the past four years was very good for her because of her need for a regular schedule. She looked forward to her weekly adventure of going out to eat and shopping. She loved to shop and had a great love of jewelry.
Esther is preceded in death by her parents Frank Wesley in 1968 and Willie Mae in 2002 and sister, Mary Ann Vandeveer in 2013.
She is survived by her sister Martha Gayle Vandeveer Bond and her husband Lerry Dan Bond of Carrizozo, NM; brothers Frank Stanley Vandeveer and his wife Deanna of Roswell, NM and John Wesley Vandeveer and his wife Lisa of Clarksville, AR; nieces Deborah Bond Kuenning and her husband Lance, Mary Beth Bond, KeriJo Vandeveer Rigtrup and Melissa Gayle Vandeveer; nephews Jeremy Vandeveer, Matthew Vandeveer, Zachery Vandeveer, and Nathan Vandeveer; great-nieces: Ashliegh Rigtrup, Samantha Vandeveer, and Maddie Griffin and great-nephews Carter Kuenning, Bennett Kuenning, Jaren Rigtrup, Michael Rigtrup, and Pax Anderson.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the Casa Maria Healthcare Center for their loving care of Esther.
