Ernesto "Nestor" H. Reyes

On September 10, 2016 Ernesto H. Reyes "Pelon" left his earthly vessel to join our creator in the fields of heaven. Pelon was born in Chamberino, NM a small community in Dona Anna county to Octaviano and Guadalupe Reyes on February 25, 1925; where he began his legacy tending to his father's livestock with his many siblings. Pelon was a corner stone in the south eastern New Mexican farming industry, as well as a successful entrepreneur, WWII army veteran and an active contributor to the Methodist and Catholic church. Among his accolades were; the NM outstanding minority business owners award in 1976 for his Ford Tractor Service, his innovations in on the field tractor repair gained him recognition amongst his peers as the best bailer mechanic in SENM. During his time in service he received the US army victory medal. He was known as a prankster, story teller and most importantly the patriarch of the Reyes family.
Pelon is proceed in death by his parents and 7 siblings Manuel, Julian, Fernando, Joe, Margret, Dominga, and Elvira; as well as his loving wife Emma Reyes who his shared 60 years with.
Ernesto married Emma in 1945 in Roswell NM and raised two sons, Samuel Flores and Daniel Reyes, as well as Curtis and Jennifer Kirby and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ernesto is survived by his son Sam G Flores of Roswell, NM and his four children Ernie Flores and wife Rose, Debbie Flores and wife Lynn, Diana Flores, Renee and husband Cesar Nava.

Son Daniel G Reyes and wife Bertha of Roswell, NM and their four children Denelle and husband Elliott Franco, Raquel Vallejos White, Daniel J Reyes and wife Ashley, Mayra and husband
Shane Duran; as well as the youngest of the Reyes siblings his sister Nicanora.

In addition to his 8 grandchildren, his memory lives on through his 17 great grandchildren, 10 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers Curtis Kirby, Ernie Flores, Daniel J Reyes, Johnny Nunez, Gilbert Flores, Anthony Atwood and Shane Duran. Honorary pallbearers are his granddaughters; Debbie Flores, Diana Flores, Lynn Flores, Ashley Reyes, Mayra Duran, Denelle Franco, Raquel White, and Renee Nava.

Viewing will be Wednesday, September 14 2016 8am to 5pm and prior to service at 10 am on Thursday, September 15, 2016 with burial to follow at General Douglas McBride Veterans Cemetery with Roswell Veteran's Honorary Guard conducting graveside services. Please join us in celebrating a hardworking man by wearing denim blue jeans to the service. Family will be receiving guests at the family home 600 Trailing Heart Road following burial.
