Manuel at the young age of 75 passed away Friday, February 4, 2022, and Emma at the young age of 76 passed away Saturday, February 5, 2022, both were surrounded by the love of their loved ones.

Manuel was born June 29, 1946, in Manzano, NM to Luis and Eulogia Sanchez who have preceded him in death. He is also preceded in death by his brothers Chris Sanchez, Paul Sanchez, Joe Sanchez, Rudy Sanchez, and Ambrosia Sanchez. Emma was born June 4, 1945, in Bosque Bonito, Chihuahua, Mexico to Catalina Cabrera Gutierrez and Rodrigo Gutierrez who have preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by her sisters and their spouses Raquel and Jose Dela luz Rede, Ofelia and Nijnio Montanez, and Lydia and Valentin Avilia; brothers and their spouses Roberto and Aurora Gutierrez, Armando and Tillie Gutierrez and Ernesto Gutierrez. Also, several nephews and her best friend Susan Chavez. Both are preceded in death by their granddaughters Crystal and Magan and great grandson Baby Rudy.

Manuel and Emma married on October 29, 1966 and had four children who survive them, Paul and Armida Sanchez, Michael Sanchez, Mark Sanchez, and Angela Sanchez. Also surviving them are their grandchildren Priscilla, Richard, Melissa, Manny, Julian, Rudy, Javi, Arthur, Yolanda, Ricky, Olivia, Sieanna and Luis; sixteen great grandchildren and one on the way. Also, Manuel’s siblings Epifina Torres, Lyndia and Jimmy Horton, Gloria and Raymond Horton, Barbara and Tom Rico, Sharron Sanchez and cousin and best friend David Chavez.

The family would like to give a special thank you to their niece Carolina Rede for helping us take care of our parents, our uncle and aunt Tom and Barbara Rico for everything they have done for our parents and for always being their companions. Also, to Ballard Funeral Home who has been our family funeral home for decades. Rodney and Tamra have gone above and beyond we could have ever imagined.

A memorial will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, February 19, 2022 at Ballard Funeral Home with a reception to follow at El Centenario Salon, 2004 S. Sunset Ave.
