Elisa Flores Reyes

Elisa Flores Reyes passed away peacefully Friday, December 11, 2009, at her home after a short illness. She was born on November 20, 1924, in Roswell, NM to Pedro Flores and Guadalupe Garcia Flores.

Elisa enjoyed being a mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Great Great Grandmother to a family of almost 80. She was always surrounded by several of her family and enjoyed cooking for them. Her kindness, giving nature, and consideration for others will be memories cherished by family and friends.

Elisa loved to work outdoors. In her early years she worked side by side with her father on the family farm in North Roswell. In her later years she spent most of her time working on her garden and yard. Elisa was also an accomplished craftsperson. She excelled at crocheting and was constantly making doilies, table covers, and blankets for all the new additions to her family. Elisa also enjoyed ceramics and other crafts. She was very creative and artistic; always accomplishing whatever she set out to do.

Elisa is survived by five children: Fred Gloria Reyes and Rita Ernest Montoya of Roswell, Delfina Pedro Franco of Riverside, CA, Corina Frank Gallegos and Mary Ann Jojola of Albuquerque, NM. She is further survived by 22 Grandchildren, 31 Great-Grandchildren, and 21 Great-Great-Grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother, Juan Bella Flores of Albuquerque and four sisters; Minnie Mendiola, Lupe Rudolph Najar, and Gloria Ralph Fresquez of Roswell, and Estefana Jerry Miles of China Grove, NC.

Services will take place at 2:00 pm Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at Ballard Funeral Home. Burial will follow immediately at South Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her Grandchildren: Raymond Franco, Richard Montoya, Fernando Montoya, Rosie Montoya, Fred Ray Reyes, and Monte Reyes. Honorary pallbearers are the rest of her Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, and Great Great Grandchildren.
