Edward Leroy Wallis, 76 of Roswell, New Mexico passed away on March 25, 2019 at 3:29pm surrounded by his family.
Edward was born to Jesse and Mary (Shorter) Wallis on November 17, 1942 in Enid, Oklahoma. He graduated from high school and joined the United States Air Force. He was stationed at Walker Air Force Base here in Roswell, New Mexico where he met and married his wife Sheila Morris, his wife of 54 years. They made a life together here in Roswell, New Mexico and Choctaw, Oklahoma as they raised their two children. Edward would enjoy any time he could get out on a river bank or in a boat reeling in the biggest fish out there. He enjoyed sharing his passion for fishing with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Edward is survived by his loving wife Sheila (Morris) Wallis, his brother Jesse John Wallis, his two children: son David Wallis and wife Jody of Choctaw, Oklahoma; daughter Tonya (Wallis) Ellis and husband Robert. His grandchildren Chet Wallis, Nicole Massey, Onnie Ervin, Ashely Ellis, Allyson Ervin, and great grandchildren Weston, Leroy, David, Amelia, and Danika, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is proceeded in death by his father Jesse Wallis, mother Mary Wallis, sisters Suzie Handyside, Mary Jane Dunning, and granddaughter Heather DeVoe.
Graveside services will be held at 9 am, Thursday, March 28, 2019 at Memory Lawn Memorial Park.
Visitation will be held from 9 am to 5 pm, Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at Ballard Funeral Home.
