Dorothy Marie Reese Davis Baird

Dorothy Marie Reese Davis Baird went home to her Savior on Monday, February 5, 2007 at Mission Arch Care Center. Graveside services are scheduled for Friday, February 9 at 2:00 p.m. at South Park Cemetery with Pastor Bobby Barnett officiating. Viewing will be Friday morning at Ballard Funeral Home from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Dorothy was born March 8 1932 in Binger, Oklahoma to Leslie and Opal Smith Reese who preceded her in death. She moved to Roswell in 1943 and married J.D. Davis in 1949. He preceded her in death in 1989 as well as an infant daughter, Sharon Born in 1962. In 1995, she married Walt Baird and he also preceded her in death.

Survivors include a son Christopher Randall Davis, his wife Karen, 2 granddaughters, 1 grandson and one great granddaughter, all of Sacramento, California.

Her siblings are MaryWeldonHood of Tulsa, Oklahoma; El DorisJoe Tate of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Elton Detra Reese of Roswell; Kathryn Paul Land of Calhoun, Georgia; and Joe Reese of Roswell. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Dorothy loved to sing, dance, laugh, and visit with family and friends. She was a homemaker and member of Trinity House of Praise.

The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff of Mission Arch Care Center for her care for the past five years and Vista Care for care during her last days.
