Doris was born November 29, 1928 to Edward and Iva (Bownds) Campbell at the family home in Rosebud, TX. She graduated from Bula High School in 1945. She married Lewis Mulkey on September 19, 1945 in Big Springs, TX. They moved to Roswell in 1955. She started her working career at Roswell Sash and Door. She worked many jobs as a bookkeeper over the years. Her favorite job was working for the Featherstone family.

When she retired in 1988, she and Lewis moved to Littlefield, TX to be closer to her Mother. They moved back to Roswell in 1992. She loved to create crafts and she and Lewis traveled all over the Southwest attending craft fairs. She was baptized in the Baptist Faith at an early age and attended Christ's Church. Doris loved to fish and she and Lewis fished the cold water in the White Mountains in Arizona and the warm waters of Lake Brownwood. More than anything else, Doris dearly loved her grandkids and great grand kids. She enjoyed going to watch them in their many activities and listening to Goddard football. She loved to cook for them too.

There are several lucky young men from Goddard that got to enjoy Grandmas fried chicken at Thursday lunch at her house.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Louise LaNell Fish Mulkey, siblings Estelle Waldrip, Erwin Campbell, Gayle Simpson, Geneva Wasson, Glorice Pirkle and Peggy Sowder.

She is survived by her husband of 70 ½ years Lewis W. Mulkey, daughter Cindy (Paul) Ragsdale and their children Luke (Adriann) and Josh (Megan) Ragsdale, Grandsons Lewis (Nikki) Fish of Lubbock, TX, Scott Fish of Lubbock and Marc (Paula) Fish of Brea, CA. She has 8 Great Grand Children and one Great Great Grand Daughter on the way. Two brothers, Kenneth Campbell of Edmonson, TX and Lynn Campbell of TX and one sister, Nina Edwards of Roswell also survive her. With 9 siblings, she also has lots of nieces and nephews!
