Dolphus Realan Burns

1961 – 2023

Dolphus Realan Burns of Roswell, NM passed away on September 26, 2023 due to heart disease. He was surrounded by his loved ones at the time of his passing.

Realan was born on November 28, 1961 in Fort Stockton, TX and went on to have a successful career in the Automotive Industry as a ASE Certified Master Mechanic. He proudly served in the US Airforce at Lackland Airforce Base in 1980 and was honorably discharged a short time later. He had several jobs in the automotive industry, Including West Star in Monahan, Texas and Fleet Manager for the New Mexico State Police in Roswell, New Mexico, and ultimately a Parts Technician for AutoZone in Texas and New Mexico. Realan was generous, had the best sense of humor and a big heart, always ready to help a friend in need. He liked to fish using the catch and release method. He loved taking pictures with his phone.

Realan is survived by his wife, Rebecca of the family home in Roswell, New Mexico; Stepson Jeremy Clark and wife Kylie of Granbury, Texas; Grandson Brett Clark and granddaughter Hadley Clark; Sister Debra McDonald of Monahan, Texas and her son J.J. Light and wife Megan and her grandchildren Jacob Bryan and Christopher Losoya; Sister-in-law Cindy Wallace and children Kaitlyn Willis, Justin Wallace, and Devon Wallace; Her grandchildren Alex Stockton and Chloe Willis. He was honored to be called Pappy by Savanna Martinez, Karlee and Toree Sanchez, As well as numerous Aunts, Uncles, and cousins. Realan was proceeded in death by his father, Dolphus Wylie Burns; His mother Bobbie Owen McCrohan; His brother James Wallace.

A memorial service will be held for Realan on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Berrendo Baptist Church, 401 W. Berrendo Rd. in Roswell, NM. Family and friends are invited to share their memories and express their condolences by visiting www.ballardfuneralhome.com.
