On March 14, 1939, Dolores was born to Alex and Louise Olguin of Pecos, NM. She attended Saint Mary High School in Albuquerque, NM, where she graduated in 1956. She attended the University of New Mexico from 1957 thru 1959. She then married the true love of her life Thomas E. McKinney from Tupelo, Ms., May 2, 1969 and traveled the world with him. She worked at the Public Service Company (Albuquerque, NM) 1976 thru 1977, Southern California Edison Co. (Riverside, CA.) 1977 thru 1979, Chase Manhattan Bank [Japan) 1980 thru 1982, Kirtland Federal Credit Union (Albuquerque, NM) 1982 thru 1994 and Otero Federal Credit Union (Roswell, NM) 1995 thru 2005. She was selfless, humble, graceful, kind, inspiring, generous, and loving. But most of all she was totally devoted to her faith in God our lord Jesus Christ. Dolores was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas (CDA) for 30 years. She was also a member of the Assumption Catholic Church Altar & Rosary Society. Dolores sang faithfully in the choir for years and studied in the adult bible groups. She was a generous and caring woman. She had a great sense of humor, smile, a contagious laugh and she was of sharp wit. Dolores was always ready to help a member in need. She served as CDA chair or volunteer on the following committees: Epiphany Party, making prayer blankets, the Grotto clean-up, telephone, nursing home visits, ways and means and the November cemetery Memorial service for our deceased members, priests and nuns. She was an active member of both organizations until her health no longer allowed her to attend. Dolores professed to live according to the Rule of the Secular Franciscan Order on June 14, 1997. She was dedicated to serving God as a faithful member of the order. She served as Treasurer for the local fraternity apostolate. She was active in providing sack lunches for those in need through the community kitchen. Her prayer life was constant and deep; attending Daily Mass and offering morning and evening prayer. She spent each day getting closer to our Lord Jesus Christ. She was a beacon of light and joy, but mostly shared her love of life with everyone. She also volunteered to perform Adoration at the Poor Claire Monastery and Assumption Catholic church. Her love and devotion to faith is unmeasurable and will always be remembered by those that knew her.
