In Loving Memory of DeAnna Stephanie "DD" Ruiz
DeAnna Stephanie "DD" Ruiz, 38, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2026. She was born on June 8, 1988, in Lubbock, Texas, to Ruben Ruiz Sr. and Donna Nunez.
DD was a loving and devoted mother to her four beautiful children: Freddy Prudencio, Miley Prudencio, Arabella Bruce and Alexander Dominque. Being a mother was one of the greatest joys of her life. She was a stay-at-home mother who dedicated herself to her children and would do absolutely anything for them. Her children were her heart, her greatest pride, and the center of her world.
DD was the youngest of four children, joining her older siblings Cassandra Sambrano, Johnny Sambrano, and Ruben Ruiz. Although she was the baby of the family, DD grew into an incredibly independent, strong, and beautiful woman. Her family was so proud of the person she became.
DD had a personality that was impossible to forget. Her smile could light up an entire room, and her beautiful, loud, contagious laugh could brighten even the hardest of days. She loved taking pictures, capturing special moments, and making memories with the people she loved. She loved to dance, have fun, and enjoy life. She was a proud Dallas Cowboys fan and could always be counted on to show her love for her team.
One of the most beautiful things about DD was the way she loved people. She didn't just tell you she loved you-she showed you. She gave the biggest hugs, held her loved ones close, and never seemed to leave without saying, "I love you." Those simple words and those loving hugs are memories her family and friends will carry with them forever.
DD had a heart that extended far beyond her immediate family. She loved her nieces and nephews as if they were her own Children. She would do anything for them, always wanting to make sure they were loved, cared for, and happy. She had a generous and giving spirit and was always willing to help anyone who needed her. She never made people feel uncomfortable, ashamed, or judged. If someone needed help, DD was the kind of person who would be there.
She may have been the youngest daughter, the baby sister, and a little sister to many who were not her sibling by blood, but she was never defined by that role. DD was independent, strong-willed, loving. compassionate, and full of life. She touched more lives than she probably ever realized, and the love she gave so freely will continue through everyone who knew her.
DD was preceded in death by her beloved father, Ruben Ruiz SR; her grandparents Arthur and JoAnn Nunez and Chenco and Emma Carrillo; her uncle Gerardo Ruiz Carrillo; her beloved baby nephew Christopher Sambrano Carrillo; and many other loved ones whom she held deeply in her heart.
Though her time with us was far too short, DD leaves behind a lifetime of love, laughter, memories, photographs, hugs, dances, and countless moments that will never be forgotten.
Her children will carry her love in their hearts. Her siblings will carry her laughter and memories. Her nieces and nephews will carry the love she gave them. And everyone who ever heard her laugh, received tone of her hugs, heard her say "I love you." or shared a moment with her will carry a little piece off DD with them forever.
DeAnna Stephanie "DD" Ruiz may no longer be here in person, but the love she gave, the memories she created, and the beautiful mark she left on the hearts of so many will never disappear.
Pallbearers are Joe Prudencio, Gary Nunez, Edward Valenzuela, Eddie Iglesias, Dominic Sosa, and several nieces and nephews as Honorary Pallbearers.
Special Thank You to Fred and Bernedette Luna; Lupito and Vera Contreras; and Serafina Martinez.
Rest Peacefully, our Babygirl
You were loved. You are missed. You will never be forgotten.
Until we meet again, keep dancing, and flying high with the angels.
