Correnia Cody Drummond Baker

Correnia Cody Drummond Baker passed on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 in Lubbock, TX surrounded by her loved ones. She was born May 5, 1936 in Shawnee, OK to John and Bessie Drummond who have preceded her in death, along with her husband Kenneth Baker.

Cody loved her husband, sons, grandkids and great grandkids, but most importantly she loved the Dallas Cowboys, if a Cowboy game was on you better not have interrupt the game. Cody moved to Roswell in 1967, where her and Kenneth started Baker Farms. Cody owned and operated Baker Farms till the very last day with her sons by her side. She was a strong willed, loving woman who cared for her family.

Cody loved traveling the U.S. with Kenneth in their motor home searching for nut crackers to add to their collection. Cody enjoyed taking her family and friends to Cowboys games as often as she could. She will be greatly missed.

Those left to honor and cherish her memory are her sons Monte and wife Denise Baker and Hugh Baker and wife Audrey of Roswell, NM; sister Nelda Dictson of Portales, NM; grandchildren Dusty Baker and wife Carolyn, Matt Baker, Cole Baker and wife Amanda, Warren Baker, and Gabby Miller and husband Ryan; great grandchildren Logan Baker, Paige Baker, KJ Baker, Christopher Baker, Colton Miller, Nadia Miller, Geirdan Miller and Isabella Miller.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Monte Baker, Hugh Baker, Dusty Baker, Matt Baker, Cole Baker, Warren Baker and Gabby Miller. Honorary pallbearers are Ryan Miller and Waylon Dictson.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Cody’s name to St. Jude Cancer Research, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 98105.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, October 6, 2023 at Baker Farms, 6225 Baker Road. A meal will follow at the farm.
