Colton Ray Porter

Colton Ray Porter of Roswell, New Mexico, passed away September 4, 2025. Born the only son of Doyle Porter (deceased) and survived by his biggest fan and mother, Kelly Key. Baby brother of 6 biological sisters, one adopted sister, 2 half-sisters and 2 half-brothers. Sisters Kimberly Bender, Kelleigh Porter, Tanna Rue (Key), Whitney Porter, Kriston Porter, and Ryan Key. Adopted sister Jazmine Powell, as well as half brothers and sisters Louis, Crimson, Monica and Crystal Sena. Aunt Jan Seely, niece Lillyonna Grace.

He is proceeded in death by his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. RC Porter, and maternal grandparents Ravis and Annetta Key as well as Father Doyle Porter, and Big Lou Sena. Also, dearest brother-in-law, Jeremy Deason, as well as many others he claimed as family.

Colton grew up between Clovis and Roswell, New Mexico, which contributed to who he was. He was a spit fire and the center of attention everywhere he went. He was confident and braver than anyone we knew. When he was a kid, he aspired to be a bull rider, like Lane Frost...but as he grew, he acquired a genuine love of music. It was salve for his soul. Anything that had lyrics that told a story. He developed a talent for rapping and writing lyrics of his own. If he ever shared them with you consider yourself blessed for the opportunity to actually see who he was. He was a ball of energy afraid that if he blinked, he would miss something.

He was a fierce protector of those he called family. He was the first to run to his sisters' side at the first sign of trouble. He also would ride with any of his brothers if they needed his help. He would have given his momma the world on a platter and trust me, he tried to obtain it for her. Recently, he had begun to settle down from being a little rowdy, and moved back to Roswell, New Mexico, after his mom got sick. He had recently been baptized, as well as acquired a job and got his high school diploma. Most of his time was taken up taking care of his mom and spending time with her. Within the last month, he spent lots of quality time with his sister Tanna as well as his mom and made some great lasting memories. From all the family until we meet again...save a place for us in the sky Amor Brother...!

Pallbearers are David Deason, Justice Deason, Jeffery Knox, Stolen Zientara, Harry L Brown III, Louie Mayes, Tannarue Key and Nicole Ramirez. Honorary Pallbearers are Raymond Pepin, Sontos Ruiz, Desteiry Baca and Ricky Gonzales.
