Carlos "Charlie" Marquez, born on January 22, 1943, was a lifelong resident of Roswell, New Mexico, he went to be with the Lord on July 26, 2025, in Roswell. He was a devout catholic and member of Assumption Catholic Church. He was an active member of his community and will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor. Family and friends may remember funny nicknames he had for them!
He was proficient is wood working and shared his gifts with everyone he knew.
Charlie was the son of Manuel Marquez and Anita Herrera, both of whom predeceased him. He is survived by his beloved siblings: Arturo Marquez of Roswell, NM, Beatrice Jaramillo of Rio Rancho, NM, and Maria Antonietta Cantu of Parker, CO. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Rudy Jaramillo, of Rancho Cucamonga, CA; Angela Jaramillo, of Rio Rancho, NM; Sally Candelaria of Albuquerque, NM; Steven Cantu, of Parker, CO; Margie Campbell, of Parker, CO and Marissa Cantu, of Denver, CO. His family meant the world to him, and he held a special place in their hearts.
A Rosary will be held in Charlie's honor on July 31, 2025, at 6:00 PM at Ballard Funeral Home & Crematory, located at 910 S. Main, Roswell, NM. A Graveside Service will take place the following day, August 1, 2025, starting at 10:00 AM at South Park Cemetery, situated at 3101 S Main St, Roswell, NM.
Charlie will be remembered for his warmth, kindness, and commitment to his family. His presence will be sorely missed by all who knew him, and his enduring spirit will live on in the hearts of his loved ones.
