Billie June Crow, 92, originally from Roswell, New Mexico, passed away December 25, 2025, in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Billie June Crow was born on December 24, 1933 in Stanton, Texas. She grew up in Roswell, New Mexico.
She studied at the University of New Mexico where she joined the Alpha Chi Omega women's fraternity. She met her husband James P. Crow while at UNM. In 1957, they welcomed their first son Greg. This began their adventure when they lived in Roswell, New Mexico, and Palo Alto and Eureka California. While in Hilo, Hawaii, they welcomed their second son James.
Prior to settling in Albuquerque, she lived in Fort Smith, Arkansas and Iowa City, Iowa.
Billie June remained very active with Alpha Chi Omega serving as pledge and chapter advisor. She was also a volunteer at Presbyterian Hospital.
She had a lifelong love for the state of New Mexico and found great joy in the state she called home. Her kindness, humor, and warmth touched everyone she met.
She loved travel and adventure, visiting Europe, Japan, Korea, Australia, Africa, and Central America.
She is preceded in death by her parents Earl and Ione Grizzell, her sister Madeleine Kennedy, her husband James P. Crow and her son Greg.
She is survived by her son James and daughters-in-law Junita and Susan, grandchildren Jennifer and Kurt, Jane and Stephen, Hailey and Houston, Ashley and Cauy, and Rania and her great-grandchildren.
A public viewing for Billie June will be held at La Grone Chapel, 900 S. Main Street, on Friday, January 2, 2026, from 11 am to 1 pm. Following the viewing, there will be a Graveside Service at South Park Cemetery, 3101 S. Main Street, Roswell, at 2 pm.
Because of her love of animals, in lieu of flowers, please donate to the Albuquerque Bio Park, ASPCA, or Watermelon Mountain Ranch shelter in Albuquerque.
